New Orleans

KKKatrina and the Terror-eyes/ed
Imbedded in their faces,
an unblinking stare;
suffering surges, filling spaces
in us we didn't know were there.
Eyes in fear of death, the terror
itself pierces the lens;
our immortal error,
their tribe on ours depends.
Refugees, victims, all of us
fear our futures, our children's fates,
to need these men of scorn and lust,
of murder most foul,
and unnatural ways.
